Stok - Kangri at 6150 meters, is one of the most popular peaks in Ladakh. Every year lakhs of climbers attempt to climb this and most of them reach the summit as well. From the summit are magnificent views of the Himalayan ranges. Be well prepared for the cold conditions but enjoy camping in the lap of the Himalaya. [su_heading size="14" align="left"]Day 1: Leh - Stok village - Manikarmo[/su_heading] Drive early morning from Leh to Stok trekking point - about one hour drive. Walk upto Manikarmo. It takes about 4 hours. Stay in a camp and rest. [su_heading size="14" align="left"]Day 2: Manikarmo - Basecamp[/su_heading] Early morning start from Manikarmo, prepared for the cold and walk uphill to Basecamp. It takes about 6 hours. Stay in camp. [su_heading size="14" align="left"]Day 3: Rest and acclimatization day[/su_heading] Stay at the Base camp and get acclimatized to climbing. Hike up a few mountains to get practice. [su_heading size="14" align="left"]Day 4: Summit day[/su_heading] Start from Basecamp at midnight and get to the Stok-Kangri peak by early morning. This way one avoids melting snow on the climb. Get great views from the summit with the rising sun. It takes about 7-8 hours to climb up and another 5 to descend to Basecamp. Rest and stay at basecamp
